This artist just dropped an insane album…
Over the years, different artists have provided us with more versatility than we have ever seen before in the rap genre. One of the newest artists to do so is Marqu3. Marqu3, also known as YRD Marque, is an 18 year-old artist from Richmond, Virginia. He has been releasing music dating back to 2022, and from then on has remained consistent, showing massive evolution in his sound with each release.
With this, he just dropped his newest album, titled “Marque 2”, which is a perfect example of Marqu3’s artistic abilities and creative vision.

To start the album off, the intro track, ‘Im back - Free lil leek Remix’, sets the tone for the rest of the project. This track is loaded with infectiously energetic trap production, which is perfectly accompanied by Marqu3’s insane flow and cadence. As stated earlier, Marqu3 tends to keep it versatile, which is seen throughout the album, with songs in different styles such as trap, pluggnb, detroit rap, and even some RnB and Pop as well. This just shows that Marqu3 is not afraid to experiment and push boundaries within his music. An example of this experimentation being the last track off the album, ‘Time for me’ which features Pop production components, as well as a more melodic approach to the vocals by Marqu3. We see these melodic vocals again on the track ‘Vent 2’, which has a more RnB-esque tone to it. It’s so easy to love this album because there is a song for everybody to enjoy on here, no matter the genre.
At only 18 years old, it is evident that Marqu3 is going to be a star. He has shown tremendous growth and evolution over the years and is only going to keep getting better. He is definitely an artist to keep your eye out for in years to come.
