Yxng Bizzy is folding his multifaceted world into rap…

For fans of early $NOT and ilyTOMMY, Yxng Bizzy’s discography will instantly stand out for its mix of deep vocal drawls and attractive production. But what’s crazy is the diversity. As a skateboarder and data science student, his multifaceted persona transfers to his music, with laid-backness and ambition melting together atop NY drill or even alien Zukenee-type punchy beats.

Take “<3 Bandz,” a beat swerving with pitched-up distortions that remind you of the backdrop to Drake’s “Summer Sixteen.” As Yxng Bizzy exhales, “I’m doing me, I’m carving a lane,” his vocals lightly crack, providing a rough, relentless tilt to the catchy hook. His drive comes into focus, much like his Young Money trap influences, but the modulation remains assured, quieter - like a confident warning. You’re suddenly infused with this unique energy, regardless of what you’re doing, to go for it as if it’s already yours.

Another spotlight is “2 Krazy,” now switching to a holy choir backdrop that lifts you up. But the confidence is embraced, vocally laying low even amid the loudness, creating an intoxicating feeling of being chosen. Such a richly diverse grind anthem just tells you how subtly your multiple influences and interests can come together to make a deeply complex you.

Interestingly enough, his upcoming album, Yxng Bizzy Vol. 7, will feature collaborations with ØWAY’s EA TJ and Senegalese rapper Akhsosa, both repping the rage space and experimenting with vocals. The new project will only prove how far the underground can reach as an intricate mix of appealing sonics and turnt-up cuts - accompanying you through highs and lows, but ultimately serving as the assurance of winning.
